Over the last 6-12 months we have been closely monitoring what our most popular plans are and why. Understandably, our Hobby plan, which used to be the cheapest plan, was the most popular. But users would quickly upgrade to a higher plan that offered more websites, better analytics and deeper crawls.
We've decided to make the Hobby plan free for everyone. We're confident that Janitor is a great product that people get benefit from, and we're confident that users who use the system for free will see the value in the extra features and look to upgrade.
We're sure you may have some questions, and we've tried to answer as many as we can below. If you have any more please feel free to reach out.
I'm on the Hobby Account now, what happens?
You'll be moved to the free account. You'll receive the same level of service as before, with the same crawl depth as before. The only thing that will change is that you aren't getting billed anything.
In the last few days we also introduced our new Webhooks feature. This feature is not available on the free account, so you'll need to upgrade if you want to begin using this.
When do my billings change?
After today no one on the Hobby account will be billed again. Your current billing period will run its course, and at the end of that period we won't charge you anything.
Other than webhooks, what other features aren't available in the Hobby/Free account?
Except for webhooks all features are available for all packages. The difference between packages is in the level each feature offers. For example, the Pro package will crawl three times as many pages of your website than the free package, which can often highlight many more problems.
Who is the Hobby/Free account aimed at?
This account level has always been aimed at individuals with small websites that may not necessarily be revenue generating, but are still important to them. Our paid plans are geared towards businesses who operate online and understand that an unhealthy website can cause serious problems with rankings, usability and conversion rate. You wouldn't operate a shop with a leaky roof, or a broken front window, would you?
